I’ve always loved New Year’s resolutions. There’s something invigorating about the blank slate that January 1st offers. I cherish those moments of daydreaming about possibilities and mapping out how to hit as many life milestones as possible. Yet, as we approach the end of the year, it’s common for me to look back and lament over what I didn’t achieve. That’s when my inner critic tends to grab the megaphone and start belting out its critiques.
This year, I’m determined not to fall into that ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’ mindset. Instead of dwelling on the ‘didn’t-dos’ of the past months, I’m choosing a different approach.
Embracing the Power of Review and Reassessment
Stop looking back at what wasn’t accomplished and start focusing on what can still be achieved. The greatest accomplishments are often made inch by inch, hour by hour.
A method often used in education is review and reassess. With a few months left in the year, it’s a great time to evaluate your goals with a fresh perspective. Consider these questions to refocus on what truly matters.
- Which goals are still realistic?
- Which goals have I achieved or nearly achieved?
- Which goals no longer hold relevance for me?

New Year’s Resolutions Start Now
Some goals remain a priority for me, while others can be adjusted. For instance, keeping up with my Tox and filler treatments is still on my list. However, starting a book club may not happen in 2024, and that’s okay.
One goal I’m particularly focused on is my health. Making an appointment with Nurse Karla for Semaglutide treatment is a significant step toward my weight loss and overall health goals. The decision to use Semaglutide wasn’t easy, especially with the fear-driven narratives circulating on social media. But after a thorough discussion with Nurse Karla, I felt confident in making an informed choice.
Creating a Balanced Plan
Here’s how I’m approaching my health goals with Semaglutide:
- Diet: Emphasize a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Limit processed foods and sugary drinks. Semaglutide affects hunger signals, making a nutrient-rich eating plan essential.
- Exercise: Incorporate a variety of workouts, including cardiovascular exercises (like walking or swimming), strength training (weight lifting or resistance bands), and flexibility exercises (like yoga or Pilates).
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Adding fresh lemon juice can provide a Vitamin C boost and support liver health.
- Sleep: Ensure you get quality sleep, crucial for overall health and weight management. Good sleep hygiene is key!
- Stress Management: Manage stress through meditation, deep breathing exercises, or engaging in hobbies.
